Gabriel Russell is the founder and a Managing Partner of Takouba and currently serves as Director of Asia Operations.
He manages Takouba’s training exercise development and assessment, physical security analysis, and threat intelligence programs.
Gabriel began his career by enlisting in the U.S. Army as a Korean Linguist Human Intelligence specialist. After almost eight years on active duty Gabriel left the Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1996. Gabriel continues to serve in the Washington Army National Guard and has extensive military experience operating throughout Asia including Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Gabriel also has experience as a senior manager in a federal law enforcement agency including supervising enforcement operations, investigations, physical security analysis, countermeasure implementation, infrastructure risk assessment, and oversight of contract guard programs.
He is a member of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association and the American Society of Industrial Security. Gabriel has also served as a member of the Washington State Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee and has instructed and developed curriculum for the Physical Security Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
Gabriel holds a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College and a master’s degree in Organizational Development from Central Washington University. He is married and spends his time as both an instructor and a lifetime student of the martial arts. He enjoys fly fishing the rivers and coastal waters of the Pacific Northwest.
James Rollins, MEd, MSS | Managing Partner of Takouba
James manages the day-to-day operations of Takouba and its foreign subsidiaries in the UK and Singapore. He is responsible for oversight of business development, consulting, contracting and finances.
James has over 28 years of experience in the private sector and the military. In the private sector, he has been a vocational instructor for ITT Tech, corporate training manager, human resources manager, and a plant manager for a medium size manufacturing company.
He is trained in Lean Manufacturing and has successfully lead several improvement programs.
As a military leader, he has deployed to Afghanistan and has organized, trained, and deployed various military organizations. He is a traditional officer in the Washington Army National Guard, formerly commanding the Region 10 Homeland Response Force and currently serves on special assignment to U.S. Northern Command, advising on the integration of federal military resources in disaster response.
James holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Martin’s University and a master’s degree in Adult Education from Western Washington University and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is married with two grown children, enjoys hiking, the outdoors, and is an assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America.
